These days I’ve been pretty busy. This is my quick post about relationship between caffeine and pregnancy.br /br /blockquoteDrinking moderate amounts of caffeine during pregnancy does not lead to premature births or underweight babies, Danish scientists said on Friday.br /br /Up to three cups of coffee a day does not seem to have any negative impact on the baby or the pregnancy.br /br /Earlier studies that looked at the impact of moderate caffeine consumption during pregnancy have produced mixed results. Some showed no difference while others suggested too much caffeine could lower average birth weight by 100-200 grams (3.5-7 ounces). /blockquotebr /a href=”http://today.reuters.co.uk/news/articlenews.aspx?type=UKNews1storyID=2007-01-26T002505Z_01_L25558440_RTRUKOC_0_UK-PREGNANCY-CAFFEINE.xmlWTmodLoc=HP-C1-TopStories-6″More:/a

I have a concern about my obese cats, feeding only diet cat foods. For the dog owners, I think this is a good news as FDA approves first drug for obese dogs.br /br /blockquoteThe Food and Drug Administration ( FDA) on Friday announced the approval of Slentrol (dirlotapide), a prescription drug for the management of obesity in dogs.br /br /Slentrol reduces appetite and fat absorption to produce weight loss. A veterinarian will determine whether the dog should be treated, based on the dog’s weight and general health, the federal agency said in a statement.br /br /”This is a welcome addition to animal therapies, because dog obesity appears to be increasing,” said Stephen Sundlof, director of FDA’s Center for Veterinary Medicine. “Veterinarians are well aware that overweight pets are at a higher risk of developing various health problems, from cardiovascular conditions to diabetes to joint problems.” /blockquotebr /br /a href=”http://english.people.com.cn/200701/06/eng20070106_338764.html”Full story/a
